There are four types of the Big Squeegee for your convenience.

Laminator (1 series in sizes 1-26, 1-32, 1-38, 1-50, 1-56)Designed for laminating and mounting prints. It will mount cut vinyl. Standard sizes are made for use with printers up to 62 inches. The front edge is covered with a replaceable silk ribbon. Will NOT apply transfer tape.

Recommendations
Use two people on jobs 48 inches or larger
Use shorter ones for small jobs. Right tool for the right job.
Use the 2, 3, or 4 series for masking.
Masking prints is not required.

Cut Vinyl Tool (2 series in sizes 2-14, 2-26 & 2-32)An all-around tool for masking and mounting cut vinyl. It can also be used for mounting and laminating printed graphics. The standard size for this tool is 26 and 32 inches. Both front and back edges have replaceable felt.

Recommendations
Use for printers and cutters up to 30" wide. The primary function of this tool is to mask cut vinyl, It is a little more awkward to handle in comparison to the Laminator tool. If the primary purpose of the tool is to laminate then it is better to get a laminator tool.
The length should be at least 2 inches longer than the width of the application tape or print.

Rivet/Dent Tool (3 series in sizes 3-18 &3-26) For mounting small graphics, & mounting graphics over rivets and irregular surfaces. It will apply transfer tape. The rivet/dent feature is an identifying name.for this tool One edge has a soft cushion that gives as it hits a rivet so that it glides smoothly over rivets. The soft edge will also push the vinyl into small dents. The vinyl will have to be formed over each rivet after using this tool. The other edge is used for applying application tape and mounting small graphics.

Recommendations
Use the Rivet/Dent tool to apply graphics to truck panels with rivets or to mount vinyl over grommets. They have even been used to wall paper a room.

Dial-up rivet * Quick Time* WMP rivet feature * WMP Mask & mount(2mb)

New
.Laminators now have a new covering on the edge. It produces a nice smooth finish on laminates. The new edge will also make applying laminates with thin backing much easier. They are available in my web site. The Cut Vinyl tool does not have the new edge because it don't work for masking

Yard Sign Tool (2 series in sizes 4-14, 4-20 & 4-26) For masking and mounting cut vinyl on signs up to 24" X 36". Will also mount graphics and laminate. This tool lacks the rivet/dent feature but the laminating feature makes it a more powerful tool for small signs.

Other Notes

The roll holder is for managing long graphics and adds to rigidity of the squeegee. It has other functions such as dispensing roll materials and changing rolls on a printer.

Use the right tool for the right job. Long tools are awkward on small jobs. Smaller squeegees make those small jobs more manageable.

All Big Squeegees will smooth over masking that is overlapping without leaving lines. Hard squeegees leave lines of air bubbles. Very good tools for layering graphics.

Used to laminate photos and apply application tape to screen printing pallets.

"Masking" and "applying application tape" are used here for the same operation.

I don't recommend that the Big Squeegee be used to mask in widths longer than 30". If it is required to mask greater widths, use more than one strip of masking. It is not required to mask prints before mounting unless a 1/4" stretch in 8 ft is unacceptable.

The Big Squeegee works very well with reflective vinyl.

Not good for applying window films. Window films are not the same as vinyl. If in doubt, check out how well the squeegee slides across the surface before applying. If it slides easily then go ahead.

Some laminates do not work as well as the videos show. There is a little extra learning curve for oracal 210 and 290. The backing on 210 is thinner and may require a small tug on the backing to get it off. 290 has a plastic backing and is very difficult to work with but not impossible. For the price, it is worth the extra effort to work with these vinyls. The heavier the paper backing the better it works.

The easiest application tape to work with is ClearChoice. It goes on easy and is easy to align with layered graphics. It also pulls the graphic off the liner better than some paper tapes. If you have problems with paper tape, give ClearChoice a try. Hard squeegee paper tapes to ensure it is bonded to the vinyl.

If you have not signed up to one of the forums below, I encourage you to do so. There are a number of Big Squeegee owners that can help with any application problem that may arise. You can also call me or send me an email with any questions.
